Donuts!

I told you on Friday I was making donuts, and I have kept my promise! My donut pan makes 6 donuts, so I made them with 3 different toppings, powdered sugar, glaze, and cinnamon sugar. Recipe Below!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons buttermilk
  6. 1 large egg
  7. 1 Tablespoon vegetable or canola oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Spray donut pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  4. In a large measuring cup, whisk together buttermilk, egg and oil
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until combined. Do not overmix
  6. Place the batter in a ziploc bag and close. Snip one corner of the bag. (My bag got a hole in it as I was squeezing the batter out, be careful)
  7. Pipe the batter out into the prepared pan, filling the donut cavities 2/3 full
  8. Bake the donuts for 8 to 9 minutes. The bottom of the donuts should be golden brown and the tops should be light
  9. Cool the donuts in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer onto a cooling rack
  10. Cool completely before coating

Vanilla Glaze

  1. 4 tablespoons milk
  2. 1 cup powdered sugar
  3. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  2. Mix 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  3. Dip donut in butter then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture

Powdered Sugar

  1. Pour enough powdered sugar in a brown bag
  2. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  3. Dip donut in butter and put donut in bag of powdered sugar and shake

Donuts

There is only 5 on the plate, because I ate one before coating the rest. I wanted to make sure the donut tasted good. They are good, and the powdered sugar ones are the best! The glaze didn’t really work well, I am not really sure how to keep the glaze on the donut. This recipe is so easy to make, it didn’t take a long time at all. You could make them when you get up and they would be ready to go for breakfast. Shout out to my mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Enjoy!!
